What you will do in your working day
The Greencore Degree Apprenticeship Programme is designed to help you reach your potential and build a rewarding career in the food manufacturing industry.
Based at the heart of our Operations team, our Degree Apprenticeship provides a blend of on and off the job learning, exposure, experience, and education so that you can develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to kickstart your career. Your role will involve leading a team of people responsible for the production of our products at one of our manufacturing sites. At the end of the programme, you will transition into a management role that supports your future career goals of becoming a leadership and management professional in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Our Operations function is responsible for manufacturing great quality products for our customers. You’ll gain hands-on experience ensuring that our production lines within the factory operate in an efficient and economical way, meeting our customer requirements to a consistently high standard, and motivating and engaging others. This will include:
- Delivering against productivity and efficiency targets
- Resolving problems and issues as they arise
- Identify and act on opportunities that make sustainable improvements to increase quality, performance
- Leading and engaging team members to ensure satisfaction, motivation and well being
- Communicating with the operations management team on performance and outputs
The training you will be getting
In partnership with Nottingham Trent University, this 4-year apprenticeship programme will align your studies to real work experience at one of our sites, allowing you to earn a great salary and become an integral part of our site Operations team. You will be working towards the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, to achieve a BA (hons) in Management and Leadership, as well as professional recognition by the Chartered Management Institute.

At the end of the programme, you will transition into a management role that supports your future career goals of becoming a leadership and management professional in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Adjustments for experience
You could reduce your training time, or finish your apprenticeship faster, if you have relevant prior learning or experience. This could be relevant:
- qualifications, like an NVQ in a relevant field
- industry or sector experience
Chartered manager (degree)
Level 6 (Degree with honours)
If your application is successful, you will have a chance to discuss your relevant prior learning or experience with your training provider and employer. You will all need to agree any adjustments to your training plan.
You should be prepared to show your competence, and evidence of relevant qualifications
